My WWE '13 Wishlist

Hello WWE Games fans, it’s that time of year again.  When THQ announces their latest WWE title and the hype train towards its release date begins.

The game this year, as we already know is WWE ’13 and will be arriving in stores on October 30th for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and Wii.  Although a version for the PSVita has yet to be announced I can’t help but hold onto hope that I will have some portable WWE gaming goodness this holiday season as well.

I’m not going to sit here and bore you with the currently known features of the game and the rumors swirling around the internet regarding everyone else.  If you’re reading this, chances are…you already know all that.  My purpose of this article is pretty simple.  To be the voice of the voiceless for the WWE Games Community in hopes of sparking change in this years games release and for future WWE games to come.

Last year, around this time I sat in a THQ board room with several other community leaders and bounced ideas and concerns with the WWE Games design team about WWE ’12 and the overall future of the franchise.

Due to unforeseen circumstances this year that led to our old Community Managers leaving and new ones arriving, myself and the rest of the WWE Games Community Leaders were not able to see WWE ’13 early this year as many of us would have liked.  Not to be able to play the game first, but to be able to provide crucial feedback and critiques that will help make the overall game better.

As Sheamus said on G4, THQ plans to once again have their big reveal for WWE ’13 at Summer Slam.  And while I’m excited to see what they bring to the table this year, part of me worries that August I just a hint too late to impact the kind of change that we could have provided just a few short months earlier.

So with that being said, I’m going to put together a wish list of sorts for WWE ’13. What I hope has been fixed/added.  And what they could do to help the overall product.  Be sure to leave comments below giving your own thoughts and ideas as well.  I’m pretty sure the fine folks at THQ will read this and take your thoughts and opinions to heart.  Just speak in a constructive and professional manner.  You’d be shocked how far that will take you in life.

Without further ado, here is my wishlist for WWE ’13:

_______________________________________________________

- I want to CONTROL my Universe with version 3.0:
Last year’s Universe mode was a huge improvement over last years.  But there were a lot of minor things that I feel could have been done to make it an overall better experience.  We have a calendar now, and while its great I can edit the three main shows…the rest of the days I see every week are going to waste.  It shouldn’t be that way.  If I want to great a show on Tuesday nights like NXT, I should be able to do that.  If I want to create an all Divas show with their own championships on Saturday to take them off the main rosters. I should be allowed to do that as well.  More control, more options will at the end of the day lead to more replay value.  I want to be able to say at this time next year I’m still neck deep in Universe 3.0  with WWE ’13.  Sadly, and truthfully the same can’t be said about WWE ’12 at this stage of the game.

Furthermore, when I tell the game I don’t want a “Remarkable Match” to take place and I replace it with something else, DON’T keep putting the same match in every freaking week until I end up having to sim it to just get rid of it! If I take it out one week that doesn’t mean I want it the next, it means I don’t want it at all.  Do not force your matches upon me that not only don’t make any sense in my current Universe but frustrate me to the point where I no longer want to play the mode.

I could go on and on about things I’d like to see changed and fixed in Universe mode but that will probably be another article for another time.

- Bring arena interaction to the next level:
While it’s nice that we now have the inclusion of “Oh My God” moments this year that surround the ring.  It’s time to allow to make total use of the arena around us. The stages are beautifully done every year, but they mean absolutely nothing if we can’t interact with them like we can on television.  I want to be able to throw people in the LED mini trons.  Slam their heads into the spinning WWE logo on the stage.  Hell, even be able to THROW people off the stage fight around it, just like they do almost every week now on WWE TV.  The ultimate WWE experience needs to include something like this.  If we see it on RAW every Monday night, we should be able to do it in the game as well.

- Take Creation up a notch:
I love all the creation modes that the WWE games franchise brings to us each and every year.  As far as I’m concerned, no one does it better.  But after last year, I can’t help but feel we deserve a lot more.

While the name stitching in create a superstar/diva was a welcome addition (one that I have been asking for years mind you) there just weren’t enough real names to create the people you would want to create.  The amount of names this year needs to be picked up a notch.  But that’s just the start…

As far as create a superstar goes they have a lot to fix.  Not only did they hardly add any new clothing items last year.  They still didn’t fix the ability to correctly adjust the wrestlers skin tone and the transparency issue on tattoos and other items was still a big concern.  While the PS3 users this year may just be satisfied at the fact that they get as many layers at 360 owners this year, I don’t think that’s a enough.

I’m not saying rehaul create a superstar, because that would be insane.  I’m simply saying take what’s already there and build upon it in a big way! We have enough blur restrictions already, lets not limit what we can do with lack of attire and clothing options again in WWE ’13.  The more stuff you can put in there the better.  The lack of specific diva clothing items for tops and bottoms were the WORST it’s ever been.  That needs to be fixed this year, THQ knows how vocal the diva fan community is.  So let’s not give them a reason rise up and riot again this year shall we?

-Make brawling backstage FUN again:
I still fondly remember the days of Here Comes The Pain, when I could brawl all over the arena going from room to room causing destruction and pain upon my opponents.  Not only was it fun, it was extremely entertaining to do.

Now a days, when I see the backstage brawl option show up I groan.  They aren’t fun anymore.  The move sets are ridiculously restricted and the entire match revolves around irish whipping your opponent into objects that may or may not connect to knock them out, in a game that will evidently revolve around the Attitude Era, this needs to change…and it needs to change now!

First things first, we need to be able to enter the backstage area through the main stage in a pin falls count anywhere match.  I don’t care if there are loading times, I don’t care how it has to be done…but it needs to be taken care of.

From there, only a few simple things need to be done to make brawling backstage fun again…

  •          No more limited move sets
  •           Crowd noise and chants are a must, as you can hear them on TV when brawls happen.
  •           Commentary, for the same reason as above.
  •           Allow the referee to follow for pin falls or submissions.
  •           Knockouts are cool, but they shouldn’t be the only way to win.
  •           Proper sound effects EVERYWHERE, if I throw someone into a wall or door and it doesn’t make a noise, it takes you out of the moment.

-Community Creations and Online need to work DAY ONE:
I often stop and think about, as well as WWE ’12 sold.  How much better the game would have done with properly functioning online and community creations right out of the gate.

While this isn’t just a THQ problem it has been plaguing a number of huge games as of late, the problem is where most of those games get their issues sorted out in days.  We unfortunately weren’t that lucky this year.

Part of me kinda wished that Community Creations had never been invented, as I often wondered how much easier and smoother online would have worked last year without CC being there and featured crashing the servers on a daily basis.  But at the end of the day Community Creations is here to stay and it needs to work right from the get go.

I know THQ has been hard at work on the servers for WWE games ever since WWE ’12 launched last November, if you think they haven’t been and you think they are just sitting on their hands while all of this goes on, you’re out of your damn mind.

So here’s hoping what they’ve figured out in the last six months will pay dividends to the final product of WWE ’13.  Because at the end of the day, while the single player experience could end up being incredible, a glitchy online could ruin the entire overall experience, I for one surely hope we don’t see anything like that happening again come October 30th.

_______________________________________________________

These are the main issues that immediately come to mind when I think about the future of WWE Games with WWE ’13 and beyond.  While there are several other small things they can do to help improve upon the product going forward, those will be covered in future entrees.

I’m curious to hear what you all in the WWE Games community think about what needs to be done to help improve WWE ’13.  What’s your wish list? Sound off in the comments section below and allow your voice to be heard, until next time…

Injuries Pile Up in Universe...

Back here once again for another week of my WWE Universe as we gear up towards the WWE PPV that no one remembers, Over The Limit! After the way Nitro ended last week I'm kind of excited to get back there. But we have Raw and Clash as well...So lets see what's happening tonight on WWE Raw!

Raw:

John Morrison vs. Mr. Showtime
Thoughts: Showtime finally has been booked again after his odd feud with DDP and his alliance with Victoria and Styx. Hopefully this will spark another feud for him and allow him to go up the card. Morrison as the heel seems to work, cause the crowd seemingly boos louder for him as a heel than any guy I've ever seen in the game. Not quite sure why, but its pretty cool. Good match overall, Showtime bloodied Morrison and went for the Pedigree. But Randy Orton came out to break up the pinfall. Showtime took exception to that and went outside the ring and pummeled Orton till he ran away to the back. Showtime ended up getting the win with the sharpshooter.

Randy Orton vs. The Undertaker
Thoughts: Normally Showtime wouldn't interfere in the Deadman's business. But after Orton stuck his nose where it didn't belong Showtime felt Orton earned a receipt. The ref takes a bump, Showtime runs out and Pedigrees Orton allowing the Undertaker to get the easy win. Sure the Viper probably won't be happy about this...but he should have stayed out of Showtime's business to begin with!

Dominique Frost vs. Victoria Valentine
Thoughts: Should be interesting to see how the champion fares against a new challenger in Victoria. Going to let the computer AI control this one as I really don't care who wins this one. Should be good either way! It was a great back and forth match, in the end Victoria fell just a bit short as Dominique hit the Ice Pick to pick up the victory. Would have been nice to get a win over the champion, but it was not to be.

CM Punk vs. Brock Lesnar vs. ???
Thoughts: Oooo, a mystery opponent. I really hope this doesn't suck. It could create a pretty cool awesome new feud for the champion in Punk, I guess we will wait and see what happens. OH MAN!!! Triple H is back! Just a couple weeks after CM Punk injured him at the PPV. Business is about to pick up! After countless near falls and the tide turning every which way, Lesnar was able to score an F-5 on Triple H to land a BIG victory to close out Raw! After the match Triple H gets carted off on a stretcher AGAIN!!??! SERIOUSLY!?!?! Wow! This guys more injury prone than Kevin Nash! Haha!

CLASH OF THE CHAMPIONS:

Robert Roode vs. Justin Gabriel
Thoughts: Already tired of this storyline but when its a remarkable match I guess I'm not really given much of a choice in the matter here. Probably just gonna let the AI handle this one and see what happens. Haha Susan Rigger comes out and stands in the corner of Justin Gabriel. Roode doesn't look pleased. Kind of amusing. Was a pretty one sided match too as Robert Roode defeats Gabriel with the Crippler Crossface. After the match Bobbi Jackson runs out and raises Robert Roode's hand in victory...Good grief!

Giselle Anderson vs. Sarah Richardson
Thoughts: Divas from Raw and Nitro battling it out here on the Clash. Surely a win for one or the other will greatly help them rise of the ranks of their own show. Bragging rights on the line here tonight. Giselle pretty much dominated the match up. At once point Susan Rigger who apparently is getting paid by the appearance runs out to try and help Sarah out. Eventually the referee kicks her out letting Giselle pick up the win.

Batista and Brodus Clay vs. Kurt Angle and the Ultimate Warrior
Thoughts: I don't even know how to begin to explain this match. Just down right scary seeing WWE '12 form these two random teams. Since I'm not a fan of tag matches in this game I'm just gonna let the CPU AI handle this match up and we will see what happens. A really fun back and forth match with an absolute garbage ending as Ultimate Warrior pinned Batista after a headbutt in a pinfall that looked to be clearly in the ropes. Whatever, lets just pretend that match never happened shall we?

NITRO:

John Cena and Mark Henry vs. R-Truth and Eddie Guerrero
Thoughts: Pretty damn sick and tired of this match, but when its a "remarkable moment" I don't have any other choice but to sit through it and let the dumb story run its course. Truth comes out along with no help and fights on his own for a while. While Truth is getting beat down Eddie comes out and cleans house officially returning this handicap match back to a tag match. Eddie ends up getting the pinfall of Mark Henry to pick up the victory for his team. Oh how I wish this storyline would end, but I doubt it!

Goldberg vs. William Regal
Thoughts: DA MAN has arrived in my universe and will debut on Nitro against the European Champion, William Regal. Will the streak begin here tonight? Or will Regal shut it down before it even gets started? Regal starts off hot at first but once Goldberg got his wits about him it was domination for the rest of the match. The spear followed by the jackhammer sealed Regal's fate. Goldberg 1-0

Katrina Showtime vs. Jasmine
Thoughts: The current number one contender for the WCW Women's title in Jasmine faces off against the champion in a non-title match. Gonna let the CPU AI do this match and see what happens. It was a pretty even match but Jasmine defeats the champion with the anaconda vice. A move which she doesn't even have. Upon further inspection I have discovered that Jasmines move set for some reason has been altered to CM Punks?! OOOK!?! Great, now I have THAT to fix...*grumbles* Moving on!!!

Sting, AJ Styles, and the Ultimate Warrior vs. Wade Barrett, Ric Flair, and Randy Savage
Thoughts: I normally don't like to do tag matches but something just screamed six man tag team main event on Nitro to end this show. Everyone got pretty equal time. The match ended with everyone in the ring while Sting was able to make Barrett tap to the Scorpion Deathlock. Awesome ending to Nitro seeing Warrior, Sting, and AJ stand tall in victory. After the match the referee is checking on Wade Barrett. Oh good lord I don't need another injury. I thought the patch was supposed to correct this garbage! *groans*

Another week in my Universe has gone by. In one weeks time, I have someone return from injury (Triple H) Only to be re-injured in the SAME match he returned from. Followed up by an injury to an important champion on Nitro in Wade Barrett. I used to think the injuries were cool but now they are down right annoying, and the patch has seemed to make things worse instead of making them better. Really frustrating!

At the same token, I can't help but feel like I need to take a look at both rosters going into next week and see if there are some people that can be wished well in their future endeavors. Rosters are kinda crowded right now on both sides. Wanna see if trimming the fat going forward will help...We shall see!

Thanks for reading have a great day!

A Major Title Change...Dig it!?

Well Extreme Rules is in the book and a new week dawns in my Universe. I'm going to do some match simming this week in my Universe, just to see what the game will do. No actual one button sim results but let the AI wrestle each other and see what happens. Here we go!

RAW:

Shawn Michaels vs. Randy Orton
Thoughts: While its a great opener for Raw, I much rather would have seen the AI recognize the fact that CM Punk took out HBKs partner and challenged him to a match instead. Such is life. Maybe next year. CM Punk has a match with Del Rio after this one, maybe some HBK involvement? I won't get my hopes up, haha. Pretty good back and forth opener. Orton hit the RKO at one point but HBK kicked out. At the end of the day Michaels finishes off the match with a perfect plex pin. Would have rather seen a superkick finish but this is what happens when the AI plays I guess. Moving on...

CM Punk vs. Alberto Del Rio
Thoughts: Del Rio is obviously trying to climb back up the rankings of Raw by challenging the Champion. Personally I think its hopeless and that Del Rio stands no chance here against the Best in the World...But we shall see! I love how everytime Del Rio has an AI match he starts the match with a taunt (at least he has in my game) its pretty damn hilarious. Miz tried to run down and help Del Rio but that didn't last long. He ended up going back up the ramp after costing Punk one of his pinfall attempts. CM Punk gets the win with the Anaconda Vice and Mr. Del Rio falls further down the card...but you already knew that. ;)

Dominique Frost vs. Maryse
Thoughts: Oh geez, this is probably going to be a curb stomping of epic proportions. Poor Maryse. Very little offense from Maryse as the Divas champion just picked her apart. Frost makes quick work of Maryse with the ice pick to pick up the victory.

Jeff Hardy vs. Brock Lesnar for the #1 Contendership of the WWE Title
Thoughts: Wow a couple wins on Superstars and Hardy is in THIS status!? How did THIS happen!? I don't even remember him being on Raw before! LOL! Wow...Ok, lets see if he makes the most out of this chance. CM Punk has come out to ringside joining the broadcast booth for this main event to decide the next contender for his title. This has been pretty much all Lesnar. Hardy getting in a little offense here and there. Hardy kicks out of the F-5! Gets a little momentum but Lensar in turn kicks out of the Twist of Fate. I'm guessing next finisher at this point is gonna win! Lesnar hits a 2nd F-5 to win the match. Awesome main event and much better than I expected that it would be.

CLASH OF THE CHAMPIONS:

Ted DiBiase and Wade Barrett vs. Jeff Hardy
Thoughts: Well Hardy certainly better hope to get the win here. Back to back losses in Universe can kill your career. Ok, gonna go against my original stance and take control of Hardy for this match. Hardy busts open Ted DiBiase and nails him with the Twist of Fate knocking Barrett off the apron before going for the cover. He tries to get back in to save him but its too late. Jeff Hardy survives...barely. lol After the match RVD comes out and raises Hardy's hand. Oh gee RVD, thanks for showing up NOW! smh

Jasmine vs. Katrina Showtime vs. Felicia Fury
Thoughts: The Women's Champion Katrina in a triple threat match with two of her top competitors. Crazy back and forth match with a lot of false finishes. The finish saw Jasmine hit the superkick on Katrina but before she could make the pinfall Felicia caught Jasmine and put her in the torture rack forcing her to tap out. The champion loses without being pinned. Big win for Felicia and may very well earn her a future Women's title shot.

Justin Gabriel vs. Robert Roode
Thoughts: Ugh, what a terrible main event. I am disappoint, this is what I get for just letting the matches roll through. I probably would have made something cooler. But alas, this is the hand I've been dealt. Lets make the most of it. Pretty much domination from Robert Roode. Hit the fishermans suplex but Gabriel kicks out at 2. Roode eventually gets the tap out victory with the crippler crossface. After the match Roode tries to shake Gabriel's hand but he slaps it away and storms up the ramp leaving Roode in the ring alone to end the show.

NITRO:

Pre-Nitro Notes: Had to take some time away from the game while I was sick and busy with other things, during that time the DLC pack came out and I am ready to push my next huge Nitro storyline into fruition. So get ready for a CRAZY main event finish! Mua ha ha!

John Cena and Mark Henry vs. R-Truth and Eddie Guerrero
Thoughts: Only reason this match stays is because its a remarkable match. I'm almost positive Eddie is out injured too...smh. Cena and Henry attack Truth and Eddie on their way to the ring. What dastardly heels, haha! In a match that took much longer than it should have, Cena pinned Truth. After the match Eddie checks on R-Truth, it appears he may be injured now as well. Oh geez...

Sting vs. Vader
Thoughts: Oh its SHOWTIME FOLKS!!! Sting coming out on Nitro to challenge the man they call Vader! Pretty awesome match up here, could be an instant classic! Great back and forth match, the Stinger hits the Scorpion Death Drop...but Vader kicks out at 2! Later in the match as Sting goes for the Scorpion Death Lock, Henry comes running out to distract the ref! Vader taps! But the ref doesn't see it! UGH! Sting goes out and battles Henry trying to chase him away from ringside, once Henry finally leaves...the Stinger hits another death drop to pick up the victory! Nice!

Denise vs. Emma
Thoughts: Two of the young up and coming divas on Nitro battle it out to see who will in the ranks of WCW Women's division. This was a hard hitting back and forth match that could have gone either way. But Denise squeaked it out nailed Emma with her finisher, a fisherman brainbuster suplex! Great women's match!

"Macho Man" Randy Savage vs. AJ Styles for the World Heavyweight Championship
Thoughts: OHHH YEAHHH!!! The Madness is back in WWE '12! And I couldn't think of a better way to bring him in than make him a heel and come right for the World Championship. You best look over your shoulder Macho...The Ultimate one is watching this match VERY closely! This has to be an early nominee for my Universe's match of the year. GREAT MATCH! Finishers of both men kicked out of. But in the end, the Macho Man becomes the NEW World Heavyweight Champion! DIG IT!?

Man Nitro really had a hell of a show to end this week in my Universe! It looks like the war between Raw and Nitro might be heating up! Thanks for reading and see you next time!

2012 Royal Rumble Results! WWE '12 Edition!

Hey everyone,

Happy Royal Rumble Sunday to you all. Instead of sharing the latest happenings in my Universe today. I figured I wanted to actually simulate the 2012 WWE Royal Rumble PPV. I will give my thoughts on the PPV itself. Followed by what happened in my games simulation, then finally what I THINK will happen on the actual show. So lets see how close the game mimics reality, the Royal Rumble simulation starts...RIGHT NOW!

ROYAL RUMBLE:

John Cena vs. Kane
Thoughts: I'm sorry, I just don't care about this match at all! Between John Cena's horrible acting and Kane's long winded promos that take ten minutes to get across what could be said in five...Its just getting tiresome. I wish they would wrap up their program on the show tonight...But I doubt it!

What WWE '12 says will happen: Kane dominates early. Hits the chokeslam and Super Cena kicks out at 2. Cena fires back hitting the 5 knuckle shuffle off the top rope followed by the attitude adjustment. Kane kicks out at 2 as well. Cena hits his comeback but Kane quickly counters with another chokeslam picking up the victory of John Cena.

What I think will happen: I think John Cena finally "embraces the hate" tonight hate and goes off on Kane. So much so in fact that the referee ends up disqualifying him. So in retrospect I agree with the game that Kane will win, we just see the outcome of the match differently. Who will be right? We shall see tonight!

Daniel Bryan vs. Mark Henry vs. Big Show in a Steel Cage Match for the World Heavyweight Championship
Thoughts: I have very much enjoyed the evolution of Daniel Bryan the past month from face underdog to weasily cocky heel. I think all three men have done a fantastic job and hope they put on a great match tonight. My fear is though with Mark Henry's injuries...this match might not end up being as good as it should be.

What WWE '12 says will happen: Mark Henry is busy beating down Daniel Bryan as Big Show actually CLIMBS OVER THE TOP and escapes the cage becoming the new World Heavyweight Champion! Hahahaha!

What I think will happen: I think Daniel Bryan will some how escape the cage by the skin of his teeth to remain champion. So I disagree with WWE '12 on their result here.

CM Punk vs. Dolph Ziggler for the WWE Championship
Thoughts: The fact that Ziggler hasn't gotten really one clean win over Punk in the past month doesn't really have me questioning the outcome of this match at all. Although I think if given time could be a very early candidate for match of the year. Only time will tell.

What WWE '12 says will happen: Punk absolutely dominates from start to finish in what made for a very boring match. Punk wins with the GTS. And after that performance, WWE may be sending Mr. Ziggles back to Superstars...Geez!

What I think will happen: Johnny Ace will obviously have to play this match down the middle since Triple H is coming to town on Monday. Punk wins clean in a great match, simple as that.

The Royal Rumble Match:
Thoughts: Not nearly enough hype for this match this year for my liking. The Rumble is probably my favorite match every year. So to see it not get the respect it deserves this year is pretty annoying...Still, I think it should be a pretty damn entertaining match. We shall see!

Order of entry-
1.) Randy Orton
2.) Santino Marella
3.) Christian
4.) Brock Lesnar
5.) John Cena
6.) Heath Slater
7.) Ezekiel Jackson
8.) Goldust
9.) Drew McIntyre
10.) CM Punk
11.) Mason Ryan
12.) Booker T
13.) Daniel Bryan
14.) Dolph Ziggler
15.) David Otunga
16.) Cody Rhodes
17.) Vader
18.) Alberto Del Rio
19.) Chris Jericho
20.) Yoshi Tatsu
21.) Wade Barrett
22.) Michael McGillicutty
23.) Sheamus
24.) R-Truth
25.) Kofi Kingston
26.) The Miz
27.) Justin Gabriel
28.) Kane
29.) Big Show
30.) Alex Riley

What WWE '12 says will happen: Randy Orton was the iron man of the match lasting through the first 15 entrants. So the game says Orton will have a GREAT showing in his hometown! In the end, it came down to Big Show and Alex Riley as I facepalmed and sighed. According to this Royal Rumble simulation, not only does Big Show win the World Championship but he wins the Rumble as well...LAME!!!!!!!

What I think will happen: Chris Jericho wins the Royal Rumble and will go on to face CM Punk at WrestleMania! Woooooooooooo! :D

Thanks for reading my Royal Rumble simulation blog. Hope you all enjoy the PPV tonight. And if you're reading this after the PPV has aired. I hope you enjoyed it!

Legends DLC and What I Want In the Title Patch...

Hey everyone,

Its the last NFL Sunday until the Super Bowl and I'm sitting here watching the championship games while I write this. So this should be interesting! Haha!

A lot of speculation going around the web right now regarding on when we will see the WWE '12 Legends DLC and the Title Patch update which is supposed to fix a lot of bugs within the game.

We all know its coming this month, but is it this Tuesday (the 24th)? Or next (the 31st)? At this point with no information revealed about what is in the patch I have to say that we will see this all drop into our laps on the 31st of January. Am I happy about it? No, not really. I would have loved to have all this stuff weeks ago. But things happen and hopefully it will all be worth the wait.

We have an EXCELLENT DLC pack including "The Animal" Batista, Mick Foley, and "The Macho Man" Randy Savage! No to mention free DLC of "The Funkasaurus" Brodus Clay. While he will come packaged as his previous gimmick its an easy fix really...

- Superstar thread his gear to red.
- Change his theme to "Somebody Call My Momma" (Already on my 360 HDD)
- Change his entrance to something more appropriate (Some are saying use Val Venis, we shall see when the time comes to go through them all.)

And bam you will have the man from Planet Funk in your game!

But besides the awesome upcoming DLC we have the much talked about and debated patch. And everyone all over the WWE Games community is debating on what its going to include. A lot of people including myself were disappointed in the patch for SVR 2011 because in all honesty, it really didn't do a whole lot to help improve the game. Here's my wish list of what I hope to see in the title patch update coming out later this month...

- A fix to Community Creations
While the matches I've played online in WWE '12 have been the best since SVR 2009. I can't help but feel the lack of stability on the Community Creations end has left a sour taste inside my mouth and many others in the WWE Games Community. This is my most important patch fix. I just want to be able to search CC without being booted constantly and not being able to search for the things I want to find.

- A better skin color system system in Create A Superstar/Diva
I know this is probably a pipe dream. But I hate the lack of colors you can choose from for the skin colors in WWE '12. They introduced this skin color system in SVR 2011. I hated it then, and I still hate it now. I would love to see it get removed and go back to the old way. I know its a long shot, but I would LOVE to see it happen!

- Transparency added back to Create A Superstar/Diva the way it used to be
Another thing that was introduced in SVR 2011 has really yet to be properly fixed. I really don't know how they could add two so horrible things to CAS in 2011 and allow them to remain for 2012 but it happened. Hopefully this gets a fix as well. I'm pretty sure people in the CAS community would love to get these issues fixed. But we probably won't see it until WWE '13

- Fixing the Create A Superstar/Diva brand only problem in Universe mode
While this isn't a HUGE deal to me, I can completely understand why its a game breaker to some. If I wanted to make an all created character brand and remove the in-game ones. I should be able to, and since it was said prior to the release of the game that you could...I would like to see THQ come through and fix this for Universe lovers everywhere.

Those are really my main things I'd love to see fixed in this patch. While there are many more minor gripes and complaints I'd love to see addressed I don't want to expect the world from this patch. I'd rather have low expectations and be pleasantly surprised then over hype myself for it, only to end up disappointed.

Speaking of ending up disappointed, the big elephant in the room over the past couple of weeks has been the free "Make Good" DLC coming from THQ for WWE '12 later this month. We all already know its not Chris Jericho, which I think would have been everyone's first choice. I just think people need to keep low expectations here as well. People are hyping this SO much, and I think its pretty much impossible for everyone to be satisfied by the end result.

Personally for me, I'm just happy we are getting something extra for free. THQ surely didn't have to do that, but they are...And I thank them for it!

We will see where the patch and what not goes this month. And you can be sure once the patch details are officially announced, I'll be right here to talk about it!

Thanks for reading and enjoy your weekend!

My Universe gets...EXTREME!!!

Extreme Rules is finally here in my Universe and a lot of titles are on the line. Its going to be very interesting to see everything that goes down here tonight in my Universe PPV!

Zack Ryder vs. John Morrison vs. Christian in a Triple Threat Match for the Intercontinental Championship
Thoughts: Long Island Iced Z has an uphill battle here with this triple threat match. But here's hoping everyone's favorite broski can pull out the win here! As the match was a pinfalls count anywhere match it wasn't too difficult for the Woo Woo Woo Kid to retain his championship. A Rough Ryder on Christian outside of the ring was enough to keep the Intercontinental Championship! You know it!

The Legion of Doom vs. Pain Inc. (Vader and Mark Henry)
Thoughts: Oh this should be INTENSE! I can't wait to see what happens here. Since I'm not a big fan of the tag matches I'm gonna let the CPU handle this match up while I watch. Very fun match to watch with tons of false finishes thanks to partner interference. At the end of the day Mark Henry nails Animal with the World's Strongest Slam while Vader takes care of Hawk to crown NEW Tag Team Champions. Johnny Ace can't be pleased...lol

AJ Styles vs. Booker T in an Extreme Rules Match for the World Heavyweight Championship
Thoughts: I guess this match was booked after the situation between the two on Nitro? I really don't follow or understand really why this match is going down but ok. Should be a good match regardless, as long as Kane doesn't interfere again. Afer a hard fought match with no interference but tons of weapons use, AJ Styles retains his championship with the Styles Clash. Good stuff!

Bobbi Jackson vs. Dominique Frost for the Divas Championship
Thoughts: The last time these two met in the ring, the title wasn't on the line and Bobbi got destroyed. Can she put up a better fight tonight to keep her championship? While Bobbi fought hard and the match was much closer than the last time they locked horns. The Ice Pick finisher of Dominique Frost proved to be too much for Bobbi and we have a new Divas Champion.

Post Match Note: I've had a few people ask about the created Divas since my blog started. Everyone that has been featured so far has either been created by myself or my friend Mikko. They are all available on Xbox 360 Community Creations under the name of the Diva in the blog. Hope that answers your questions!

Wade Barrett vs. John Cena for the United States Championship
Thoughts: Um...? I don't get this one at all. First off, they are both heel. So them fighting makes no sense to me. Also, why is Cena going for the US title? Just kinda silly to me. Oh well, the Barrett Barage will tear right through Cena like a hot knife through butter. Lets go Wade! And just to make a point, Barrett wins by hitting Waste Land on John Cena FOUR TIMES! After the first one I decided to let him up at 2 and wanted to keep on beating on him. Even though he's a heel...Cena still sucks! Haha!

CM Punk vs. Triple H in an Extreme Rules Match for the WWE Championship
Thoughts: This should be EPIC! And that would be a great work to describe this bloody match. When the match kicked off Punk accidentally clotheslined the referee and I thought we were about to see interference but nothing happened. Thanks to the Extreme Rules PPV I was able to get the "Berserker" Achievement! Most of which occurred in this crazy match. Both men bleeding like crazy when it was all said and done. Punk makes the Game tap out to the Anaconda Vice! He truly is the best in the world! After the match the referee checks on a bloody Triple H face down in the ring not moving. Things don't look good for him...

Post Show:
It was confirmed in the news section that Triple H is out with a serious injury. I'm sure his tag partner Shawn Michaels will be none too pleased about this news going forward. I wonder if he will come after the champion on Raw?

Thanks for reading, feels good to be blogging again and playing some WWE '12 after my move. I may do another blog this weekend talking about the upcoming DLC and patch but I haven't decided yet. If nothing else, tune back next week for more of my WWE Universe as we officially hop on the road to Over the Limit!

The Road to Extreme Rules Comes With Some Frustration...

Another week in Universe as Extreme Rules draws near. As I love the current WWE direction on TV and nothing came from the proposed stable on Nitro two weeks ago. I have made a stable of CM Punk, Daniel Bryan, and Zack Ryder and have called them "Best in the World" lets see if the game will choose to acknowledge this at all on TV...

RAW:

- CM Punk vs. Edge, Christian, and The Miz
Thoughts: Oh yea, because THIS is fair? Honestly I would change the match but since its "remarkable" it will never leave me alone until I finish it, lets get this over with! VERY annoyed at the game. Universe was insisting on having Edge walk out on Christian and breaking up their tag team. Um no, not on my watch. Hit rematch, grabbed a chair as Christian and clobbered Punk with it. Punk wins, no break up...bite me Universe logic!

Post Match Thoughts: Oh for crying out loud the game broke them up anyways! BS! I went in and put them back together. So annoying...

- Dominique Frost vs. Maryse for the #1 Contendership of the Divas title
Thoughts: As much as I love Maryse its time to push her down the card for the created girls. Although I do have some awesome plans for Kharma in the future on my Universe, but that's another time and another place. For now its time to give Maryse a beat down. Dominique destroys Maryse in a matter of minutes to claim the number one contendership to Bobbi's championship. Will Bobbi's title reign be in jeopardy come Extreme Rules?

- Triple H vs. Brock Lesnar
Thoughts: The D-X and Lesnar feud continues. As Lesnar beats down Triple H, HBK runs out to interfere but Brock overcomes just like he did against HBK the week before and wins with the F-5!

- Diamond Dallas Page vs. Mr. Showtime w/ Victoria Valentine
Thoughts: And we continue the feud that makes no sense as the Showtime and DDP feud continues. This week Victoria accompanies Showtime to ringside again, like she did two weeks prior. Lets see what this week is all about...Before the match can get under way, Styx comes out to ringside and her and Victoria get into a catfight at ringside. Hahahaha wow! The ref, DDP, and Showtime are all distracted by this as the match officially begins. Both girls end up being ejected from ringside as the match is strictly one on one. Showtime picks up the win with the Pedigree. After the match, Victoria and Styx are on the ramp as Showtime goes up it, they both raise Showtimes arms in victory? LMAO wow...You've gotta be kidding me! /
Post Thoughts: Well, Victoria has officially turned face, wow. What an odd yet hilarious storyline...

CLASH OF THE CHAMPIONS:

The Ultimate Warrior vs. Justin Gabriel
Thoughts: FINALLY WARRIORS HE HAS RETURNED! I just downloaded the amazing Ultimate Warrior from CC and when I put him in my Universe. The game bumped Robert Roode and put Warrior in the spot instead. One Warrior Nation approves this decision, Warrior wins with ease with a MIGHTY gorilla press slam!!! *snarls*

Trish Stratus vs. Denise
Thoughts: Before this match can really get going, a debuting Bianca Da Silva interferes laying out both girls. Making her presence felt in the new company which she just joined. Evil rich platinum blonde heel about to shake things up around here.

Rob Van Dam vs. Ted DiBiase and Wade Barrett
Thoughts: Before the match can get underway, RVD comes out on the entrance ramp apparently injured as if he was jumped backstage or something earlier in the show? It would be nice to know WHY he is hurt? But Jeff Hardy comes out and offers to take his place. So its now Jeff Hardy against the dangerous duo in a handicap match. After a long fought battle the Charismatic Enigma picks up the win with a twist of fate on DiBiase.

After the match Ted DiBiase FLIPS OUT and starts tearing apart the commentators table. Cole starts mouthing off and Ted DECKS him! I'm popping huge! My favorite cut scene in Universe so far. Shouldn't that make him a face? LOL! I might book Ted vs Cole on Clash next week...we shall see...

NITRO:

John Cena and a Mystery Partner vs. R-Truth and Eddie Guerrero
Thoughts: Greeeeat even though Eddie was injured last week he's been booked back this week thanks to "Remarkable Moments" you know, I liked the whole concept of it at first since it was a guaranteed cut scene but now that you can't skip them and they come back week after week and force injured stars into matches, I'm starting to hate them. John Cena's mystery partner...Mark Henry! All I can say is...lol A pretty fun opener that could've gone either way. A bloody Cena was able to get the pinfall victory against R-Truth with an Attitude Adjustment. After the match Henry and Cena layout Eddie and Truth with steel chairs. I think Cena might have to join Pain Inc. soon at this rate. lol

Felicia Fury vs. Jasmine #1 Contendership for the Womens Championship
Thoughts: Two #1 Contender Women's matches on TV this week? Someones gonna get short changed at Extreme Rules...I hate when they pull this crap! Great back and forth match which started to turn the tide for Felicia. When Felicia hit the torture rack though Jessica Jackson rushes to ringside to distract the referee to keep her from tapping out. Next thing you know Styx runs out to start brawling with Jessica! Diva mayhem on Nitro!!! But after all the chaos calms down, another torture rack ensures Felicia Fury is the new #1 contender. Katrina...Look out!

The Rock vs. William Regal
Thoughts: Yes, because apparently Rock's feud with John Cena is no longer important, lets book this instead? *facepalms* Its almost as if the CPU logic of this game chooses to book the Friday show like crap. During the match Cena came out and tried to get involved but the Rock still prevailed picking up the victory with a Rock Bottom, GOOD! The feud DOES continue!!!

AJ Styles vs. Booker T
Thoughts: This should have been a great main event on Nitro, but on Booker T's way to the ring Kane comes out and brutally attacks him from behind. Injuring him, thus making this match not nearly as fun as it could have been. Booker T put up a hell of a fight but just couldn't overcome the attack from Kane and was defeated by a Styles Clash to end Nitro.

Overall an enjoyable week of Universe, although I'm starting to feel like I'm enjoying playing Raw a lot more than Nitro. Gotta figure out a way to change that going forward. Wonder what I can do...

On a more positive note, In the next blog my Universe arrives at Extreme Rules! Should be awesome! Till next time folks!
